WORKING WITH YOUR COUNSELING CENTERS

Through our take-initiative ability, CBHA can strengthen the connection between athletes and counselors. Any athlete that needs ongoing treatment can be referred to your institution’s counseling center so they can continue their mental health care in the comfort of their own campus’ resources.

FLEXIBILITY: INTEGRATING WITH YOUR CAMPUS RESOURCES

We know many institutions provide a platform of great resources for mental health. The unfortunate caveat is that the majority of these resources are reactionary, or designed to wait for the athletes to approach them. In reality, most athletes will seek this resource when they’ve reached a critical stage of their mental health illness. Or they won’t reach out at all, choosing to sit with their condition indefinitely.

Your mental health kit can have a balance, however. Our program allows the flexibility of integrating with the benefits your other resources can provide. We take the initiative, reach out to the athlete, and depending on their diagnosis, refer them to the resources your campus has.
